Supporting the peer supporter

‘The provision of regular supervision and debriefing [have been found] to be one of the main factors influencing the success of a peer support service’.1

The term ‘counselling’ may be used interchangeably with the term ‘debriefing’. Supervision is more commonly referred to in counselling related activities, while the term ‘debriefing’  describes a similar process  but in a more informal context. In the following, both terms are used interchangeably.1
